Applications
Intentional Design
MPS Global machines have performed on virtually every type of terrain, under severe weather conditions and in hostile environments. Connexus technology has been used to join internally and externally coated pipe.
Joints made with Connexus technology are designed to withstand pressure, as well as external loadings. MPS Global’s internal full-scale laboratory testing allows application of appropriate design factors to ensure safe, reliable operation. MIF technology has been used for over 50 years to connect more than a million pipe-joints worldwide. Connexus technology can be used to carry corrosive fluid without the vulnerability of threaded couplings, or damaged internal coating resulting from high temperature produced by welding.

Connexus is a solution for bare, internally or externally coated pipelines.
Example Applications:
- Onshore
- Offshore
- Sour Services
- CO2 injection
- Liquid and gas hydrocarbon
- Water
- Hydrogen
- Mining

Hydrostatic Testing and Pressure Strength
Joints connected with Connexus MIF connections have design pressure strength equal to the pipe from which they were made. This pressure strength is retained in the presence of external forces within the elastic range.
Robust Design Ensures Loading Capacity
Joints made with Connexus technology are designed to withstand pressure, as well as external loadings. Designs are supported by full scale laboratory testing, and are compatible with typical industry codes including: ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8. The circumferential and axial strength of the connection enables diverse application for onshore and offshore projects.

Bend Strength
Joints made with Connexus technology may be subjected to the same design bending movements as straight pipe. Bending stresses which do not cause the adjacent pipe to yield or be dented, do not affect the joint integrity, pressure strength or leak tightness of the joint.
Technology

Connexus Mechanical Interference
The interference, metal-to-metal fit, is achieved by inserting a carefully tapered pin end into an expanded belled end.

Connexus Epoxy Seal
The epoxy seal created when one pipe is inserted into the other creates a flexible, airtight and corrosive resistant wall at the connection point of the joint.

Connexus Process
The interference fit is responsible for the axial load carrying capacity of the joint, relying on contact stresses between the pin and bell for strength.
